Top Tips
- Remember - where the bonding happens is different to the nature of the bonding (its definition)
- "The nature of the bonding" is the definition of the bonding.
- Remember that 2 of the 3 marks for metallic bonding are for your labels!
- Always count your electrons. E.g. N has 5 outer shell electrons, H has 1, so in NH3 there should be 5 ❌ (from N) and 3 • from the three H atoms. Also, no shell should ever have more than 8 electrons on it in total.
